Hanoi (VNA) – Cambodia and China have agreed to build a mechanism to enhance bilateral cooperation in security, counter-terrorism and cybercrime prevention.

The agreement was reached by Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and director-general of the Department of External Security Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Liu Guangyuan during their meeting in Cambodia on December 9, according to Xinhua.

According to spokesman of Cambodia’s Foreign Ministry Chum Sounry, Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed his support for the mechanism and highly valued the sound cooperative ties between the two countries across the fields, particularly economics, trade, investment, and tourism.

The Minister said the high-level delegation visits of the two nations in 2016 have contributed to strengthening the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Meanwhile, the Chinese official stressed that his visit is intended to further bilateral collaboration in security./.
