Cambodia is expected to welcome 5 million foreign visitors this year, and about 8 million by 2020, according to the country’s Tourism Minister, Pak Sok Kun.

He said his ministry has taken measures for promoting the stable development of tourism, particularly by focusing on diversifying tourism products and improving the service quality.

Tourism plays a vital role in realising the Cambodian national development strategy of promoting economic growth, employment, equity and efficiency.

In 2014, the country received 4.5 million foreign arrivals, up 7 percent compared to the previous year, generating revenue of 3 billion USD and providing about 60,000 jobs in the tourism sector.-VNA
