Cambodia presented its Friendship Order to outstanding individuals and members of the armed forces from Kon Tum, at a ceremony on July 13, held in the Central Highland province.
Attending the event were Ha Ban, Secretary of the province’s Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council, and General Bou Thoong, head of the Commission on Interior National Defence, under the Cambodian Senate.
At the ceremony, the General presented the Friendship Order to Ha Ban and two former Secretaries of the provincial Party Committee, So Lay Tang and Y Veng. The province’s Military High Command and Police also received the prestigious award.
Bou Thoong praised the contributions made by the Vietnamese people, including the people in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, during his country’s struggles against foreign invaders and the Pol Pot genocidal regime.
He stated that both countries should work together to maintain peace and development, stressing the need to educate future generations on the importance of consolidating and strengthening the friendship that Vietnam and Cambodia share.-VNA
