Thai Nguyen (VNA) – Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam PrakNguon Hong has proposed that Vietnam’s northern province of Thai Nguyencontinue receiving more Cambodian students and expanding fields of training forthem.

At a meeting with provincial leaders on January 22, the Cambodiandiplomat lauded socio-economic development achievements as well as educationand training development policies of Thai Nguyen.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen People’s Committee TrinhViet Hung said that Thai Nguyen always creates optimal conditions for Cambodianstudents.

Currently, nearly 60 Cambodian students are studying in a number oftraining facilities of Thai Nguyen, including the Thai Nguyen University forIndustrial Technology, Thai Nguyen College of Economy and Finance, and ThaiNguyen University of Pedagogy, noted Hung.

At the meeting, the provincial leader also asked the Cambodian Embassyto help connect businesses of Cambodia with their peers in Vietnam and ThaiNguyen in particular, thus boosting bilateral cooperation in economy,education, tourism and culture.-VNA

Binh Thuan ramps up measures to combat IUU fishing

According to the Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province has completed registration for all “three-no” fishing boats - vessels without registration, licences or monitoring systems - measuring six metres or more. About 2,710 such vessels have been registered, meeting 100% of the ministry’s requirements and 2,012 operational vessels have been fitted with VMS devices.

Vietnam, US hold 169th repatriation ceremony for American MIA servicemen

At the ceremony, Vietnam handed over four boxes containing remains recovered during recent joint excavations in Hue city, and Quang Tri and Kon Tum provinces. Preliminary forensic analysis on April 15 suggested the remains may belong to US MIAs and they will be sent to Hawaii for further identification.
