Phnom Penh (VNA) - The Cambodia Supreme Court will hold a hearing on the dissolution of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) on November 16.
According to a document signed on October 27, Supreme Court President Dith Monty invited CNRP leader Kem Sokha and lawyers representing the Ministry of Interior to attend the hearing.
According to the subpoena inked by the court on October 9, Kem Sokha has 20 days to prepare and send relevant documents to the court. However, the CNRP and its leader haven’t filed any requested documents yet.
Kem Sokha was arrested on September 3 on charge of treason.
On October 6, the Ministry of Interior lodged a petition to the Supreme Court, requesting the dissolution of the CNRP, following complaints of the Cambodian Youth Party on October 4, and the Funcinpec Party on October 5 that accused the CNRP leader of committing treason.-VNA
