Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhayly (Source: VNA) Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodia appreciates the involvement of Vietnameseinvestors in boosting the country’s economic development, its Deputy PrimeMinister Yim Chhayly stated when attending a conference to review rubber treeplanting of several Vietnamese companies held in Phnom Penh from February 28 toMarch 1.
Chhayly said aftermore than 10 years, the project to plant 100,000 hectares of rubber trees inCambodia has contributed remarkably to the country’s economic growth.
With nearly 90,000hectares of rubber trees grown so far, the project has generated jobs forlocals and helped build infrastructure such as schools, medical stations, cleanwater systems and roads in target areas.
He affirmed that theCambodian government continues making adjustments to create a favourablebusiness and investment environment for investors.
Within the frameworkof the conference, Cambodian offices such as the Ministry of Finance and the GeneralDepartment of Customs and Excise held open and straightforward dialogues withrepresentatives from Vietnamese companies involved in the project to help themdeal with difficulties related to rubber export procedures, tax incentives andtax declaration.-VNA
