Cambodian dengue child patient treated in Vietnamese hospital

Doctors at Children’s Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City have saved a 4-year-old Cambodian girl from serious dengue, the hospital announced on April 11.

HCM City (VNA) – Doctors at Children’s Hospital 2 inHo Chi Minh City have saved a 4-year-old Cambodian girl from serious dengue, thehospital announced on April 11.

According to the hospital, the child was taken to the hospitalon March 26 in critical condition due to dengue fever, including respiratoryfailure, prolonged shock, multi-organ failure, severe liver and kidney damage, and blood loss. Doctors found it hard to measure the child’s blood pressure.Immediately, the patient was given mechanical ventilation, anti-shock withelectrolyte solutions, transfusion of blood products, and vasoactiveand cardiac drugs.

According to the patient’s family, the child living in aCambodian locality bordering Vietnam had a high fever for two consecutive days,but local treatment could not ease it. On the third day, she was verytired, vomiting blood, so her family took her to a private clinic in the southern province of Binh Phuoc for examination. The childtested positive for dengue fever and was rushed to Children's Hospital 2 forfurther treatment.

She will be discharged from the hospital soon./.

Attracting high-quality talent to strategic science, technology fields

Tireless efforts made to restore the names of fallen soldiers

Quang Ngai currently has 127 martyrs' cemeteries containing 37,689 graves, including 26 collective ones. Of these, 16,758 have complete information, 5,134 contain partial information, while 15,771 remain unidentified. Around 6,000 martyrs from the province have yet to have their remains located.

Dak Lak team presses on with search for fallen soldiers

During the 2025–2026 dry season, Team K51 recovered and repatriated the remains of 27 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia. The achievement came after nearly seven months of searching through forests, crossing streams and following even the smallest leads.
