Long An (VNA) - Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam Anon November 4 presented 500 million VND (some 21,570 USD) to aid disaster-hitpeople in Vietnam’s central region.

The money was channelled through authorities of the Mekong Deltaprovince of Long An, which borders Cambodia’s Svay Rieng and Prey Veng provinces.

The financial assistance was donated by the Deputy PM, the Vietnam - CambodiaFriendship Association, the Cambodian Red Cross, and authorities and the youthfederation in Cambodia’s Svay Rieng province.

At the handover ceremony at Long An’s Binh Hiep international gate, MenSam An extended her sympathy to people in the central region, hoping them andthe country would soon overcome the difficulties and losses to stabilise theirlives and boost socio-economic development.

Receiving the donation, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Pham Tan Hoa expressed his thanks to the Cambodian Government, peopleand Deputy PM Men Sam An for the support./.

Prime Minister meets Vietnamese community in Algeria

Government pushes stronger data integration to tighten IUU fishing controls

According to the MAE, as of November 15, a total of 79,360 fishing vessels nationwide had been registered and updated in the national fisheries database (VNFishbase), reaching 100%. The number of licensed vessels stands at 76,811. Vessels found ineligible for operation have been placed under local supervision, with commune- and ward-level authorities assigned to manage their mooring.

Japan’s Nihon Denpa News licenced to reopen office in Vietnam

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang underlined NDN’s long-standing and close attachment to Vietnam, noting that it was among the first foreign media organisations to establish a resident office in the country. In Official Dispatch No. 219/CD-TTg issued to the provinces and cities of Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong, along with ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, Government units and the Office of the National Civil Defence Steering Committee, the PM requested immediate implementation of essential actions to safeguard communities, with the protection of human life placed above all else.
