Search and rescue teams are combing the area off the coast of Ho Chi Minh City where a motor boat capsized on August 2 to look for four passengers who still remain missing.
The accident reportedly happening due to strong wind had claimed the lives of five passengers, including the boat operator while 21 others were saved and taken to healthcare centre for medical care.
The motor boat, designed to cater for 18 passengers as maximum, was found to have carried 30 passengers on a passage that crossed Long Hoa village in Can Gio district of Ho Chi Minh City when the deadly accident occurred.
On August 3, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked the National Committee for Search and Rescue and relevant agencies to work together in search for the missing passengers and provide assistance to the survivors.
The same day, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang came to Can Gio to instruct the search and rescue work.-VNA
