Hanoi (VNA) – The central coastal provinces of Binh Thuan, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai have exerted great efforts to create more value for their marine-based tourism products.
Binh Thuan launched a music fountain show named “Huyen thoai lang chai” (Legend of the Fishing Village) and the Sand Sculpture Park Forgotten Land early this year to wow visitors.
The province has cooperated with other cities and provinces, such as HCM City, Lam Dong and Southeastern provinces, to develop tours that connect regional tourist destinations.
The province has also worked to draw more investment in tourism. To date it has more than 400 valid projects in tourism and services, worth some 52 trillion VND.
In addition, Binh Thuan has improved local service quality to make the province a safe and friendly destination. It has raised awareness of local service providers of the appropriate attitude towards visitors.
Ham Tan, La Gi and Ham Thuan Nam in the southern part of the province have become tourist hotpots since the beginning of 2017, with adventure tours attracting many holidaymakers.
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Binh Thuan saw more than 1.2 million tourist arrivals in the first quarter of this year, up nearly 10 percent from a year earlier.
It earned approximately 2.9 trillion VND from tourism during the period, up 20 percent.
The province aims to receive 5 million tourist arrivals by the end of this year, generating about 10.8 trillion VND in revenue.
The provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai have taken advantage of the beauty of Cu Lao Cham, Tam Hai and Ly Son islands to develop marine-based tourism.
They have integrated community-based tourism into marine-based tours, allowing tourists to experience the distinctive culture of locals and explore the biodiversity of the islands.
Quang Nam plans to build a port in Chu Lai exclusively for tours to Cu Lao Cham, Tam Hai and Ly Son.-VNA
