Hanoi (VNA) – Admiral Tan Sri AhmadKamarulzaman, Chief of Navy of Malaysia, is on a working visit in Vietnam toboost naval cooperation between the two countries.
He was received by Chief of the General Staff ofthe Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant GeneralPhan Van Giang in Hanoi on June 28.
At the meeting, the Admiral expressed his beliefthat bilateral naval cooperation will see new steps of development, helpingfurther deepen the defence partnership between Malaysia and Vietnam.
For his part, Senior Lieutenant General Phan VanGiang spoke highly of the naval collaboration between Vietnam and Malaysia overthe past time.
The defence partnership has witnessed newdevelopments and reaped practical outcomes, he said.
The regular exchanges between the two countries’naval ships have significantly contributed to enhancing the bilateralcooperative ties, he added.-VNA
