Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital received the Six Sigma certificate of the US Westgard Sigma Verification of Performance (VP) Programme for its testing system for the third time at a ceremony on January 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City-based ChoRay Hospital received the Six Sigma certificate of the US Westgard SigmaVerification of Performance (VP) Programme for its testing system for the thirdtime at a ceremony on January 5.

More than 75 laboratories around the world have beenawarded this certification, for which errors in test results must be minimal,with less than four errors in a million occurrences.

Founded in 1900, the Cho Ray Hospital has 35clinical, 11 subclinical and 8 functional departments.

It organises practice and postgraduate training formore than 2,500 medical students and 600 doctors each year.

The hospital has 1,200 beds, employs 2,270 healthworkers including 500 medical doctors and pharmacists, and provides treatmentfor about 457,000 outpatients and 67,000 inpatients per year.

Previously, the hospital also got the certificate in2017 and 2019./.

Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.

Under the plan, each resident will be assigned a unique EHR linked to their personal identification number, ensuring accuracy and consistency while minimising duplication and data discrepancies. Health data will be continuously updated from medical facilities, routine check-ups, and screening programmes, then integrated and centrally displayed on the application.
