- Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited and extended Christmasgreetings to Catholic and Protestant dignitaries and followers in the CentralHighlands province of Gia Lai on December 23.

The Deputy PM informed the Catholics and Protestants of attainments of thecountry in socio-economic development and national defence in 2017, attributingtheir contributions to the achievements.

He expressed his hope that local Catholic and Protestant dignitaries andfollowers will continue promoting solidarity and contributing more to thenation’s development.

Binh also asked authorities at all levels in Gia Lai to do more to facilitatereligions in the province to promote their traditions and contribute to thegreat national unity bloc.

The same day, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) CentralCommittee Ngo Sach Thuc visited and extended Christmas greetings to Catholicdignitaries and followers in Bui Chu diocese in the northern province of NamDinh.

Earlier, he also visited the Vietnam Committee for Catholic Solidarity’s Nam Dinh chapter and anumber of Catholic dignitaries in Nghia Hung and Xuan Truong districts.

On December 25, Truong Thi Mai, head of the Mass Mobilisation Commission of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, visited the Da Lat diocese.

She acknowledged contributions of Bishop Vu Huy Chuong of the Da Lat dioceseand dignitaries in disseminating the Party’s policies and the State’s laws toCatholic followers in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, contributingto strengthening the great national solidarity block as well as to the localsocio-economic development.

On December 22-23, delegations from the Party Committee, People’s Council,People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and the VFF’schapter in the locality visited and extended Christmas greetings to Catholic andProtestant dignitaries and followers in the locality.-VNA
