National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has requested Party Committees at all levels to make it easier for every citizen to contribute their opinions on the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution.
In an urgent public letter, No. 250/UBDTSDHP, signed on March 6, Hung, who is also Chairman of the Committee for Drafting Amendments to the 1992 Constitution, asked local authorities to send to each household copies of the original and drafted amendments of the Constitution, within this month, to make it easier for every citizen to express their ideas. All the opinions from the masses must be collected in an honest and objective manner.
Agencies and organisations nationwide need to hold seminars and talks for their officials and employees to express their opinions on the draft amendments. Party and social organisations at all levels must also acquire suggestions from their members.
Regarding the deadline for collecting feedback, the letter said people’s feedback collected between January 2 and March 31 this year will be submitted to the NA for consideration in its fifth session this May, with approval coming in the sixth session in October.
After March 31 until September 30, citizens are still able to make their recommendations on the draft revised Constitution. Organisations and localities are responsible for collecting the opinions and submitting them to the committee.-VNA
