Co Loa Citadel, about 20 km to the north of today’s Hanoi, is not only a lively evidence of the ancient Vietnamese people’s tradition in their struggle against invaders to defend the country, but also an ideal destination for tourists.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on August 24 gave the green light to a proposal on building the National Exhibition and Fair Centre covering 300 ha in Co Loa commune, Hanoi’s Dong Anh district.
A master plan for restoring the Co Loa spiral-shaped citadel in suburban Dong Anh district, Hanoi, was unveiled by the Ministry of Construction and the municipal People’s Committee on October 26.
The Khong gian Viet (Viet space) display area was officially put into operation in the Co Loa Citadel on February 1 as part of efforts to diversify cultural activities in the national historical-cultural relic site.

Architects, historians and scientists discussed measures to preserve Co Loa - Hanoi’s oldest citadel - and promote its cultural and historical value at a conference in Hanoi last weekend.
Hanoi will spend 60 billion VND (2.6 million USD) on preserving and promoting the value of the Co Loa relic site in Dong Anh district during the 2018-2020 period after the site is reported to be encroached seriously.
