Concert marks Europe Day in Vietnam

The “Europe Days 2013 in Vietnam” programme, the ninth of its kind held in the country, kicked off on May 9 with a concert of the Munich Chamber Choir and Vietnamese musicians at Hanoi Opera House.

Addressingthe opening ceremony, Ambassador Franz Jessen, Head of the Delegation ofthe European Union to Vietnam, stressed the significance of theEurope Day (May 9), saying that this is a chance to promote the EU’srelations with other countries, including Vietnam.
 
The eventoffers opportunities for Vietnam to introduce its culture, art, landand people, as well as the Vietnamese community to European friends andincrease understanding and promote friendship and cooperation amongpeoples, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said.
 
Within the framework of Europe Days in Vietnam, various activities arebeing held such as a piano performance by Eric Legnini, the EuropeanFilm Festival 2013, the European Literature Day, a German comic bookexhibition, a talk show on Green Development Options for Vietnam and twoEU-Vietnam friendly football matches.-VNA
