Concert marks Europe Day in Vietnam

The “Europe Days 2013 in Vietnam” programme, the ninth of its kind held in the country, kicked off on May 9 with a concert of the Munich Chamber Choir and Vietnamese musicians at Hanoi Opera House.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Ambassador Franz Jessen, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, stressed the significance of the Europe Day (May 9), saying that this is a chance to promote the EU’s relations with other countries, including Vietnam.
 
The event offers opportunities for Vietnam to introduce its culture, art, land and people, as well as the Vietnamese community to European friends and increase understanding and promote friendship and cooperation among peoples, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said.
 
Within the framework of Europe Days in Vietnam, various activities are being held such as a piano performance by Eric Legnini, the European Film Festival 2013, the European Literature Day, a German comic book exhibition, a talk show on Green Development Options for Vietnam and two EU-Vietnam friendly football matches.-VNA
