Doctors at the Central Paediatrics Hospital in Hanoi on July 22 successfully separated two conjoined babies in an operation that lasted nearly three hours.
The four-month-old boys from the northern province of Yen Bai were conjoined in their belly and part of their chest.
The twins are reported to be in stable condition, said Pham Duy Hien, deputy director of the hospital’s surgery department. According to him, the babies can be discharged from hospitals in 7-10 days.
Director of the hospital, Associate Professor Le Thanh Hai said this is the sixth pair of conjoined twins to have been separated at the hospital since 2003.-VNA
