Construction began on a secondary school in central Quang Nam province on February 14, which is being partly financed by the German foundation Batschka Stiftung.
The school, named Phan Chau Trinh, has received total investment of over 20 billion VND (940,000 USD), 8 billion (376,000 USD) of which was sourced by Batschka Stiftung. It will be built in the province’s Duy Xuyen district.
The two-storey building is being created using a flood-proof home model and will comprise of 14 classrooms, a staff room and a multifunctional building.
Once operational in August, the school is expected to cater to the demand of more than 650 students in the locality, as well as acting as a shelter for locals during the flood season.-VNA
