Seventeen female candidates, who will run for parliamentary seats forthe first time, from the Central Highlands provinces of Kon Tum, GiaLai, Dak Lak and Lam Dong and the central provinces of Phu Yen, NinhThuan and Khanh Hoa attended the course, organised by the VietnamWomen’s Union (VWU).
Along with symposiums onoperations of the NA and NA deputies, and women engaging in politicalaffairs, participants were introduced to methods to map out candidacyaction plans, listening skills and how to answer questions raised byvoters, plus how to lobby via mass media.
Talkingwith the candidates on March 31, VWU Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoasaid the Party and State always highly value the role of women in theprocess of national construction and development, reflecting theimportance of women in socio-political affairs in general and in joiningthe NA in particular.
Hoa, who is also a member ofthe Party Central Committee, advised the candidates to showself-confidence during the electoral campaign as well as in theircapacity and qualifications./.
