CPV leader greets Cuban senior official

CPV leader Nguyen Phu Trong met with Vice President of the Cuba’s Council of Ministers in Hanoi.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong met with Marino Murillo Jorge, Vice President of the Cuba’s Council of Ministers in Hanoi on October 9.

Jorge informed the host of the initial results of bringing the policy of the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) into life. Jorge is currently the head of CPC Commission responsible for implementing resolutions approved at the CPC’s sixth Congress.

He also pledged to further strengthen solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples in the coming time. 

Trong said Jorge’s visit to Vietnam is a good chance to implement the agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders and boost cooperation between the two Parties and countries.

He said he believes under the sound leadership of the CPC, led by President Raul Castro and leader Fidel Castro, the Cuban people will record greater achievements in their revolutionary cause.

The CPV leader also reiterated Vietnam’s faithful support and solidarity with the CPC and Cuban people.

Earlier on October 8, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Jorge, during which, the two sides agreed to ask the two countries’ Inter-governmental Committees to seek ways of diversifying cooperation in many fields, especially those of each side’s strength.

They also vowed to bring bilateral relations to a new height, for the benefit of the two nations, and for peace, national independence, democracy and socialism./.
