Havana (VNA) - Cuba appreciates ASEAN's invariable support for the struggle of the Cuban people against the blockade and reaffirms the will to continue strengthening relations with ASEAN in a number of areas, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez has said.
He made the statement during his meeting with ambassadors of ASEAN member countries in Havana on April 14.
At the meeting, delegates discussed Cuba’s participation in the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2020, as well as potential to expand cooperation in fields of shared concerns.
Diplomats of ASEAN countries, namely Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar, appreciated cooperation and mutual support at international forums, and affirmed their backing for multilateralism and protection of principles of international law and the role of the United Nations./.
