CVN launches competition for Francophone reporters in Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) - Le Courrier du Vietnam (CVN), a weekly French language newspaper under Vietnam News Agency, is calling for young reporters living in Vietnam who speak French to participate in a writing contest called "Young Francophones Reporters –Vietnam 2016".

This competition, with the theme “The power of words” aims to encourage young reporters in Vietnam to take advantage of the French language to present Vietnam to readers of the newspaper.

It provides an opportunity for participants to express their feelings about the country, while highlighting the richness and diversity of the French language.

The competition is supported by the Asia Pacific Regional Office (RBAP) of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), the Group of Francophone embassies and international delegations to Vietnam (GADIF) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and others.

Candidates may send a maximum of five works in French, which can address the same topic.

Each project must not exceed 5,000 characters (including spaces) or 900 words, with one or more pictures, including legends. Photos can be taken either by the candidate or by a third party who authorises him or her to use them.

Eligible projects must be unpublished by any media in any country. Applications must be sent no later than midnight on July 10 by email to the following address: jeune.reporter.cvn@gmail.com.
