Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam and the Czech Republic see great potential in a wide range of sectors, particularly scientific research, Czech Senate President Milan Stech said while meeting with President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on November 16.

He noted his delegation is accompanied by top Czech scientists seeking collaboration in Vietnam.

He pointed to the increasing number of Czech citizens interested in Asian tourism, who consider Vietnam a favourite destination. Thus, Vietnam should grasp the chance by facilitating the travel of Czech tourists.

The Senate President recommended Vietnam send workers to his country for vocational training. Upon their return, these workers will provide technological updates for peers back home, he said.

He informed his host about positive outcomes of his meeting with National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung as both parliamentary bodies are accelerating the signing of several agreements.

For his part, President Truong Tan Sang hoped for enhanced Czech support towards Vietnamese localities in mechanics, crystal manufacturing and tourism, at which the Czech Republic excels.

Vietnam will implement cooperation mechanisms across provinces based on Czech recommendations, he added.

The President took the occasion to express his appreciation towards the European nation’s creation of favorable conditions for Vietnamese expatriates to integrate well into the local communities.

Hailing the role of the Czech Republic in the European Union, President Sang proposed that the country help accelerate the ratification of the Vietnam-EU Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA).

The pact would stimulate trade between Vietnam and the EU, including the Czech Republic, he stated.-VNA
