The Da Lat Flower Festival 2012, the fourth of its kinds, opened in Da Lat, the Central Highlands Lam Dong province on Dec. 31.

Addressingthe opening ceremony of the five-day event, Vice National AssemblyChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that Da Lat is leading the countrywith an average annual income of more than 80 million VND per hectare.

The Central Highlands resort city of Da Lat is covered in flowers as the biannual flower festival is in full bloom.

The festival will last through January 3 with a wide range of flower displays as well as cultural and artistic activities./.

The Government is recommending public employers arrange their working schedules to swap out working on Saturday, April 26, for the day off on May 2.In early April, workers in Vietnam will also enjoy a day off for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the third lunar month), which falls on April 7 (Monday).
