Da Nang (VNA) – The Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) 2025 is taking place in the coastal city of Da Nang, welcoming 450 delegates from over 30 countries and territories, including official members of the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

Deputy Director of the municipal Tourism Department Tan Van Vuong announced at a press conference on March 31 that running until April 5, the seven-day event features a diverse lineup of activities, including golf course famtrips for golf tour operators, the AGTC 2025 Golf Championship on April 2, the Asia Golf Tourism Conference on April 3–4, and an exhibition showcasing Da Nang’s tourism offerings.

He said this marks the second time Da Nang has partnered with the IAGTO to host this prestigious golf tourism event. The AGTC 2025 presents a prime opportunity to promote the city as a dynamic and modern coastal destination with exceptional tourism potential. The event will also highlight its world-class golf courses, five-star hotels and resorts, breathtaking natural landscapes, and premium tourism services.

Furthermore, the convention is expected to strengthen Da Nang’s position on the regional and international golf tourism map while opening new avenues for cooperation and investment in both golf tourism and the luxury travel sector.

IAGTO President Peter Walton underscored the significant value the AGTC 2025 will bring to Da Nang. During the event, 168 golf tour operators will explore local golf resorts and courses. Additionally, more than 4,500 scheduled meetings between international golf tour operators and golf tourism service providers will take place, generating increased revenue for golf destinations across Asia, including Vietnam and its Da Nang.

By attracting top golf tour operators from 33 countries and territories, the AGTC 2025 is also hoped to diversify Da Nang’s golf tourism markets, reducing the city's dependence on just one or two key sources of travellers.

As part of the convention, the IAGTO will announce the World Golf Tourism Awards, honouring outstanding golf courses and destinations as voted by international golf tour operators. Notably, Da Nang will be recognised with the "Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism" award for its remarkable efforts in advancing golf tourism./.
