Updated treatment methodstogether with advanced reproductive technology learnt will allow thehospital’s doctors to provide quality services to patients withinfertility problems in the Central and Central Highlands regions.
Scientific reports on new approaches to in vitro fertilization (IVF)were delivered to the participants by leading experts from Hanoi and HoChi Minh City, which are leading in the treatment service.
According to Ho Manh Tuong, Director of the Research Centre for Geneticsand Reproductive Health (CGRH), School of Medicine, Vietnam NationalUniversity in Ho Chi Minh City, around 1 million couples nationwide arestruggling to conceive.
About 15,000 infertile couples have sought IVF treatment annually, Tuong said.
The Da Nang Obstetrics and Paediatrics Hospital has started IVF treatment since March this year.
Vietnam’s first IVF babies were born in April, 1998 in Tu Du Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.-VNA
