As many as 75 percent of ethnic households living in rural and remote areas of Central Highlands Dak Lak province are being provided with safe water, 2.5 percent higher than the 2010’s figure.

The rate is expected to increase to 77 percent by the end of this year.

Since 2011, the province has invested over 343 billion VND to build water supply systems and a large number of wells meeting hygienic standards in rural and remote areas.

Thanks to the state’s investment in the facilities, residents in the districts of Ea Sup, Buon Don, Krong Pak, Krong Nang and Cu M’gar now have access to clean water.

Apart from water supply facilities, the locality also poured money into building hygienic toilets for 22 schools in rural areas and supported ethnic minority households in constructing 17,000 hygienic toilets.-VNA
