
The visit aims to enhance friendship, mutualunderstanding and trust between the two countries’ peoples and armies,contributing to reinforcing bilateral ties.
It also looks to implement agreements reached duringthe visit to Thailand inFebruary 2017 by Vietnam’sGeneral Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of Defence.
On April 4, General Surapong Suwana-Adth met withGeneral Ngo Xuan Lich in Hanoi, during which heconfirmed Thailand wants toenhance pragmatic collaboration with Vietnam for peace, stability anddevelopment.
Minister Ngo Xuan Lich suggested the two sides coordinateand support each other at multilateral forums to bring the bilateral defencepartnership to a new height.
Earlier, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang,Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, held a ceremony towelcome the guest.
They later discussed measures to boostbilateral cooperation, agreeing to implement collaboration contents, focusingon delegation and young official exchanges and coordination in UN peacekeepingactivities and humanitarian mine action.-VNA
