Hanoi (VNA) – Defence Minister Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich paid a floral tribute at the Thai embassy in Hanoi on October 18, expressing his sympathy with the recent passing of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
In the funeral book, Lich wrote that the Vietnamese people in general and the Vietnam People’s Army in particular always treasure the warm feelings that the King gave to the Vietnamese people, as well as his valuable dedication to bilateral friendship and strategic partnership, including the defence ties.
He expressed his belief that the Thai Royal, government, people and army will overcome the great loss soon and continue making the country more prosperous.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej died on October 13 at 88 after ruling Thailand for seven decades.-VNA
Leaders offer condolences on Thai King’s death
President Tran Dai Quang, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on October 14 sent their condolences to Thailand over the death of King Bhumibol Abdulyadej.
