Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh on February 6 visited and extended Lunar New Year greetings to General Vo Nguyen Giap.
Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh on February 6 visited andextended Lunar New Year greetings to General Vo Nguyen Giap.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission, Defence Ministry and thewhole army, Thanh briefed Giap on the implementation of military anddefence tasks, as well as the building of a comprehensive and strongpeople’s army in 2012.

Thanh stressed that Giap isa great source of encouragement and pride, and an example to theVietnamese armed forces and people’s army.

He wished Giap good health and a Happy New Year.

Giap expressed his joy with the army’s achievements and his hopethat the entire army would continue to strive for success in 2013. -VNA
