He made the assertionwhile hosting Chen Zhaohai, deputy commander of the Chinese People’s LiberationArmy’s Southern Theater Command, in Hanoi on December 11.
The Deputy Minister underlinedthat Vietnam gives the top priority to the ties with neighbouring countriessharing the border with Vietnam.
He reiterated theconsistent policy of the Vietnamese Party, State and army of building stable,long-term and comprehensive friendship and solidarity with China.
He took note that thedefence cooperation and border management between the two countries’ armieshave been reinforced in recent years, thus promoting stability and prosperityin the two nations’ border areas.
Chen Zhaohai saidVietnam and China have maintained security at border regions and improvedcooperation mechanisms in law enforcement as well as strengthened coordinationin combating and preventing crime.
The two countries willincrease exchanges among border guards and the sharing of experience in promotingexternal affairs and people-to-people exchanges across border areas, he said.
The two sides willcoordinate to manage cross-border trade and promote twin ties between borderstations and villages, the Chinese officer noted.-VNA
