Delegates conclude visit to Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform

The delegation gathered more than 200 representatives from the banking sector, the Vietnam Academy of Dance, reporters, and naval officers and soldiers.

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A delegation of civil sectors and the navy on April 22 concluded a visit to Truong Sa island district of the south-central province of Khanh Hoa and a DK1 platform on Vietnam's southern continental shelf.

The delegation gathered more than 200 representatives from the banking sector, the Vietnam Academy of Dance, reporters, and naval officers and soldiers.

During the seven-day trip, they visited, presented gifts, and held cultural exchanges with soldiers and residents on the islands of Song Tu Tay, Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Len Dao, and Truong Sa Lon (Great Truong Sa), and the DK1/2 Phuc Tan A platform – one of the economic, scientific and technical service stations of Vietnam in the southern continental shelf.

The delegation also held a ceremony to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending national sovereignty in the waters off Co Lin. They paid tribute to national hero Tran Quoc Tuan (1228–1300) at a monument to him on Song Tu Tay Island, and also offered incense at the martyrs' monument and the memorial house dedicated to late President Ho Chi Minh in Truong Sa town, along with other cultural and spiritual sites on the islands they set foot in.

Additionally, the delegates participated in a flag-raising ceremony on Truong Sa Lon Island.

On this occasion, the Vietnam People’s Navy presented the insignia “For the cause of safeguarding maritime sovereignty” and the “Truong Sa soldier” badge to members of the delegation./.

Dong Nai launches ceramic festival
