Dong Nai launches ceramic festival

Bien Hoa ceramics are famous with a unique celadon glaze, “vert de Bien Hoa.” The “vert de Bien Hoa” glaze is made from ash glazes and copper alloys, which emerged in the 1920s. It is used to make large flower vases, animal statues, or roof tiles.

Dong Nai (VNA) – A traditional ceramics festival opened in the southern province of Dong Nai on April 27, aiming to honour the traditional pottery-making craft, connect heritage with modernity, and promote the cultural identity of Bien Hoa – Dong Nai to both domestic and international vistors.

Taking place from April 27 to 30, the festival features a wide range of activities, including exhibitions of ceramic products, a seminar on preserving and developing traditional pottery in the integration era, hands-on experiences at the Dong Nai College of Decorative Arts, a logo and brand identity design competition for the Bien Hoa - Dong Nai Traditional Pottery Festival, and booths showcasing One Commune-One Product (OCOP) and key rural industrial products.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung highlighted that Bien Hoa ceramics, with a history of over 300 years, remain a proud symbol of local culture.

Bien Hoa ceramic products have been exported to more than 30 countries.
