Most Venerable Thich Duc Phuong (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Most Venerable Thich Duc Phuong, Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Patronage Council, passed away on July 1 at the age of 85.
According to the VBS’s Patronage and Executive Councils, the funeral is being held at Lam Son pagoda in Hue city of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
The memorial service started from 7am of July 3 to the end of July 7, while the burial service will be organised on July 8.
With his great contributions to the Buddhism and the nation, Most Venerable Thich Duc Phuong was honoured with noble awards by the Party, State and VBS, including the Independence Order, third class, and the Great National Unity Order.-VNA
