Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held talks with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli on July 16.

At the meeting, two sides agreed to address measures fostering cooperation in various fields as well as furthering the sustainable development of the economic-trade relations.

The two leaders said that two countries will study and build cross-border economic zones, coordinate to tackle difficulties in Chinese projects landing in Vietnam and encourage border localities to enhance exchange and collaboration to enlarge economic activities in the border areas.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc spoke highly of China’s assertion to import Vietnamese forestry and agriculture products in addition to supporting Vietnam to build infrastructure and develop healthcare and education in border provinces.

Regarding the East Sea issue, the two sides agreed to comply with the common perceptions of the two Parties and countries on effectively controlling differences at sea, avoiding activities that complicate the circumstances further, strictly implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and settling disputes by peaceful measures in line with international laws.

Later, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chinese Vice Premier Zhang witnessed the signing of plan carrying out a cultural agreement between Vietnam and China for 2016-2018.-VNA
