Hanoi(VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and ministry and sector leadershad a working session with the managing board of the Paris-based BNP Paribasbank on equitisation and divestment in Hanoi on April 18.

Head of BNP Paribas for the Asia-Pacific region Christian De Charnace said hisbank has participated in consulting many privatization deals of State-ownedenterprises in France and is the consultant for Vietnamese low-budget VietjetAir’s IPO.

He gave advice onhow to evaluate State-owned enterprises; strategic investors; the role ofconsultants in State-owned enterprise equitisation; classification of shares;among others.
 
Deputy PM Hueregards the recommendations as significant to the Vietnamese Government inmaking and refining policies and laws pertaining to equitisation anddivestment.

He expressed his hope that the bank stands ready to provide consultancy for theVietnamese Government, ministries, and sectors in related fields.

Up to 96 percent of State-owned enterprises have been equitized but only 8percent of State capital was sold to the public, said Hue. -VNA
