Hanoi (VNA) – Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh presented gifts to disadvantaged children during a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration held in Hanoi on September 28.
Speaking at the event, the official underlined that the Party and State over the years have paid attention to the protection of, care for and development of children through legal system and policies, evidenced by the various programmes and projects on the issue now underway.
He urged relevant agencies to further study a model in Hanoi and HCM City which has helped thousands of victims of abuse to stabilise their physical and mental health.
Child abuse prevention and combat is a duty of all people and violations must be strictly punished, Binh stressed.
The celebration, organised by the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), was also part of the activities to mark the 90th founding anniversary of the VWU and the Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20)./.
