Bac Giang (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam visited and presented gifts to workers in the northern province of Bac Giang on February 11 on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Extending his best wishes to workers of SJ Tech Vietnam at Van Trung Industrial Park in Viet Yen district and Bac Giang Urban Project Management Company in Bac Giang city, he handed over 50 gifts worth 1.3 million VND (56 USD) each to disadvantaged labourers and environmental workers.
Visiting the Bac Giang Party Committee and People’s Committee, he spoke highly of the province’s socio-economic development in the previous year, recording an economic growth rate of 16 percent.
The Deputy PM also stressed the importance of welfare facilities for workers, saying that along with economic development, local authorities and businesses should pay due attention to the building of those facilities at industrial parks, such as dormitories, kindergartens and schools, thereby ensuring stable lives for workers.-VNA
