Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held a reception in Hanoi on December 19 for a delegation of the Lao Central Steering Committee on Rural Development and Poverty Reduction which is on a working visit to Vietnam.
The Deputy PM rejoiced at the flourishing relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
He suggested Vietnam’s Steering Committee for the Northwestern region and the Lao committee increase sharing their experience so as to effectively eliminate poverty, especially in disadvantaged, remote and rural areas.
At the meeting, the Vietnamese and Lao officials agreed on the importance of educating the young generations on the two countries’ special relations, cooperating in all spheres to support each other’s development, including in eradicating poverty and building new-style rural areas.
Earlier, the Lao delegation and officials of Vietnam’s northwestern province of Lao Cai had a meeting on December 17 during which they exchanged experience in the work.-VNA
