Deputy PM requests post-road traffic accident settlement in Hoa Binh

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has signed a dispatch to ministries of public security, transport, the National Traffic Safety Committee, and the people’s committees of Hoa Binh and Dien Bien provinces directing the settlement of an extremely serious road accident in the northern province of Hoa Binh.

Hanoi (VNA) – Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh has signed adispatch to ministries of public security, transport, the National TrafficSafety Committee, and the people’s committees of Hoa Binh and Dien Bienprovinces directing the settlement of an extremely serious road accident in thenorthern province of Hoa Binh.

Thedispatch said the accident happened in Dong Bang commune, Mai Chau district, HoaBinh province at 0:20 on June 17 on National Highway 6.

Atruck bearing the Lao plate of UN-8500 travelling in Son La – Hanoi routecrashed into a passenger coach of Long Giang company in Dien Bien which wasgoing in an opposite direction, killing three, and injuring 37 others with two beingin serious conditions.

Uponlearning the news, Deputy PM Binh, who is also Chairman of the National TrafficSafety Committee, sent condolences to families of the victims, and assignedDeputy Chairman of the Committee Khuat Viet Hung to work with the provincial People’sCommittee to support them following the accident.

Chairmanof the provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Traffic SafetyCommittee must ask units to pool all possible resources to save the injured,promptly investigate the cause, and enhance inspection over traffic safetyviolations.

TheTransport Ministry along with transport departments of Dien Bien and Hoa Binhwere assigned to check transportation business requirements in enterprisesowning vehicles in the accident.

TheMinistry of Public Security was responsible for directing traffic police tostrictly deal with traffic safety violations in road transportation, andworking with the Transport Ministry, other ministries, agencies and localitiesconcerned to closely control the licensing for cars with foreign plates inVietnam.-VNA
