Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on September 16 met with Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz as part of the Vietnamese official’s visit to the Caribbean nation for the Group of 77 plus China (G77+China) Summit.

Havana (VNA) – Deputy Prime MinisterTran Hong Ha on September 16 met with Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruzas part of the Vietnamese official’s visit to the Caribbean nation for the Groupof 77 plus China (G77 China) Summit.

Ha affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State,Government, National Assembly and people always remember the whole-heartedsupport of Cuba, and treasure and stay resolved to deepen the traditional solidarityand comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Vietnam supports Cuba’s just revolutionarycause and will make more efforts, together with Cuba, to overcome the currentchallenges, he pledged, suggesting the two sides maintain their closecooperation to create optimal conditions for their businesses to enhance theirtrade and investment ties.

For his part, Manuel Marrero Cruz highlightedthe fraternity between Vietnam and Cuba, and thanked Vietnam for its support,especially its rice supply through both donations and commercial contracts.

The bilateral relationship is thrivingas reflected through the Cuba visit by NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue in April andthe trip to Vietnam later this month by the Cuban top legislator to commemoratethe 50th anniversary of the visit to the liberated zone in South Vietnam by leader Fidel Castro.

The host agreed to direct ministries andagencies to coordinate more closely with Vietnam to promote the bilateralinvestment and trade relations, particularly in agriculture, pharmaceuticals,biotechnology, and infrastructure, stressing that the two sides are now able tomove to a new phase of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The same day, Ha received Cuban Minister of Construction ReneMesa Villafana, and visited the ViMariel Industrial Park invested by Vietnam’s Viglacera Group.

The draft law clarifies the cabinet's duties along several key dimensions such as submitting fundamental and critical matters to the NA for decision, presenting issues within the NA Standing Committee's jurisdiction for resolution, proposing amnesty decisions to the President in accordance with the regulations, and executing responsibilities within the Government's authority.
