The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Zone 3 on November 22 received nine foreign sailors rescued by Vietnamese fishing vessels.
On the day, these sailors, including four Indonesians and five Myanmar ones, who are in good health condition, were handed over to relevant agencies.
The sailors said they were attacked by pirates when crossing the waters of Indonesia on November 18 when their Malaysian flagged ship, MT ZAFIRAH, was heading to Miri from Pasirgudang port ( Malaysia ).
They were then found and taken aboard by two Vietnamese fishing vessels when their lifeboat was drifting in the waters around 118 nautical miles off Vietnam’s southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on November 21.-VNA
