President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong on Sept. 15 handed over 1.25 billion VND to the Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Guoxiang as a donation to victims of landslides in Gansu province of China.
Hong said the donation was raised during a campaign from Sept. 7-15 with the aim of helping victims in Gansu overcome losses caused by the recent landslides.
The Chinese diplomat expressed his gratitude for the assistance that communities, organisations and individuals have made to Chinese people in Gansu .
This amount represented the Vietnamese people’s heart to people in Gansu in particular and China in general, said Ambassador Sun, adding that support from foreign countries, including Vietnam , was a great encouragement for Chinese victims./.
