Dong Nai (VNA) – The Dong Nai provincial People's Committee on March 27 issued a decision on making a 1:500 detailed planning scheme for an urban area project worth over 72.2 trillion VND (about 3 billion USD) in Hiep Hoa commune, Bien Hoa city – the largest ever in the southern province.

Earlier, the committee approved the investment policy for the 293-hectare Hiep Hoa Urban Area, which is expected to house 31,600 residents. Of the total investment of 72.2 trillion VND, more than 54 trillion VND will be allocated for construction, while the remainder will be for compensation and resettlement support.

Located along the Dong Nai River, the urban area will feature a new urban complex with a low population density, modern infrastructure, and a harmony with nature. The development will also focus on sustainable tourism, offering a mix of residential areas, commercial-service housing for tourism, ecological villas, and public services.

The project aims to support both daytime and nighttime activities, establish a vibrant commercial street to meet the diverse needs of residents and visitors, and stimulate regional economic growth through trade, services, and tourism.

Under the decision, Dong Nai Sun Investment and Development Company Limited will be responsible for preparing the planning scheme. The project is expected to be completed over 12 years, from the approval of the investment policy in 2023 to 2035.

The Bien Hoa city People's Committee has also approved a plan to recover more than 290 ha of land for the Hiep Hoa Urban Area project. This area excludes over 1.5 hectares designated for the construction of technical infrastructure, including three roads surrounding a shopping center project in Hiep Hoa ward./.
