Dong Nai moves to carry out cooperation programme with Cuban province

The People's Committee of Dong Nai has issued a plan to implement the friendship cooperation programme between this southern province and Pinar del Rio province of Cuba.

Dong Nai (VNA) – The People's Committee of Dong Nai has issued a plan to implement the friendship cooperation programme between this southern province and Pinar del Rio province of Cuba.

Accordingly, to implement the cooperation agreement signed by the Dong Nai provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee of the Cuban province on October 23, 2024, the Dong Nai administration urged relevant units and localities to boost trade and investment promotion activities to further connect the two sides’ businesses.

They were also asked to facilitate the exchange of information about cooperation opportunities between their enterprises, especially in their prioritised and strong areas.

Additionally, it is important to increase the exchange and update of information about the two sides' markets, import and export demand, trade and investment policies, business environments, investment incentives, and cooperation and development potential of Dong Nai.

Relevant units and localities were told to consider trade cooperation projects, share experience in state management over cooperatives. Besides, they should explore tourism cooperation potential, introduce the images of both provinces to each other, and organise tourist exchanging activities.

In the agricultural sector, the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development was tasked with working with agencies and localities to boost experience sharing and scientific - technical cooperation with Pinar del Rio province in agriculture, particularly rice and crop production, forestry, timber processing, industrial tree cultivation, and aquaculture.

Local agencies and localities are also set to strengthen partnerships with the Cuban side in biodiversity conservation, water resources management, and biosphere reserves management within the framework of joint diplomatic activities.

Regarding cultural exchanges, people-to-people diplomacy, along with healthcare and education collaboration, Dong Nai and Pinar del Rio will organise short- and long-term training programmes for their officials, Party members and, especially, the youth to share experience, enhance mutual understanding, and develop health and education manpower.

The two provinces will also consider establishing cooperative ties between their localities, departments, and units in the time ahead./.
