Dong Nai police investigate woman accused of subversive acts

Police in the southern province of Dong Nai have taken a local woman into custody and officially launched an investigation into her alleged involvement in activities aimed at overthrowing the administration.
Dong Nai (VNA) - Police in the southern province of DongNai have taken a local woman into custody and officially launched an investigationinto her alleged involvement in activities aimed at overthrowing the administration.

The force announced on April 8 that theirinitial investigation found out that in early 2018, Luong Thi Thu Hien (born in 1968and living in Quang Trung commune, Thong Nhat district) learned via Facebook  about the so-called“Chinh phu quoc gia Viet Nam lam thoi” (Provisional National Government of Vietnam)which in fact is a reactionary and terrorist organisation led by Dao Minh Quan inthe US.

She later got acquainted with members of the organisationand took part in its activities.

Hien frequently posted and shared stories and imagesdistorting history, defaming late President Ho Chi Minh, and calling for theoverthrow of the Communist Party of Vietnam. She also received money from the organisationand supported Dao Minh Quan’s return to the country to build the so-called “ThirdRepublic of Vietnam”.

Hien was involved in subversive acts under the directionof the organisation, introduced other people to the organisation, and was appointedrepresentative of the “Provisional National Government of Vietnam” in Districts4, 5, and 6 in HCM City, according to Dong Nai police.

Police said Hien’s acts are in serious violationof Vietnamese law. Though authorities regularly warned her over her behaviour, shecontinued to commit wrongdoings with increasingly sophisticated ruses.

Local police therefore decided to detain her andlaunch an investigation./.
