Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The Party Committee of the central province of Thanh Hoa is urging local authorities to swiftly address obstacles and speed up implementation efforts in order to fulfill the target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for disadvantaged families by October 2025.
According to the provincial Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, there is a demand for support in building or repairing 15,326 homes across the province. However, to date, only 15 district-level units have reported new construction activity, with just 415 homes initiated. This leaves 4,879 homes yet to be started and 9,299 requiring financial assistance.
To ensure the progress, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh has directed the committee's Standing Board members in charge to intensify their guidance, inspection, and supervision.
Local officials are required to strengthen on-the-ground inspections and take prompt action to address any signs of stagnation or lack of accountability in executing the campaign. They are also tasked with completing administrative procedures to ensure timely disbursement of financial support to eligible households, avoiding overlap or omission in beneficiary identification.
For families already approved for funding, provincial authorities have mandated that construction and repair works commence simultaneously across the province on May 12.
District-level authorities are also instructed to prioritise the reallocation of funding to mountainous localities where a large number of households still require housing support./.
