Dong Nai (VNA) - The water in Dong Nai River,the second largest river in the southern region that crosses some CentralHighlands and southern localities, is forecast to reach 1.96m, nearly equivalentto Level 3 alert.

According to the Southern Regional HydrometeorologicalCentre, in the next two days, the Dong Nai-Sai Gon River will continue to rise.

On October 30, the water level at Bien Hoa censoring stationis predicted to remain at 1.9m and get lower slowly later.

Meanwhile, the Tri An Hydropower Company said that it willcontinue pumping 450cu.m water per second to the lower reaches of the river.

Due to the rising tide, a number of low areas near the DongNai River including Long Thanh, Nhon Trach district and Bien Hoa city face highrisk of flooding. Local residents are advised to take responding measures toreduce losses from flooding./.
