Almost 60 well-known domestic and foreign businesses are displaying their products at the Vietnam Electronics, Communication, Information Technology Exhibition 2009 (eCIT Vietnam ) which opened in Hanoi on Dec. 10.

The businesses introduce their products, ranging from audio and light electronic equipment to IT and telecom products and their applications in the socio-economic sectors at over 200 pavilions.

Within the framework of the five-day exhibition, there will be a ceremony to honor outstanding businesses operating in the sector. The 18th Information Technology Week will also be held, focusing on the application of IT-communications in Vietnam .

According to Le Ngoc Son, chairman of the Association of Electronic Industries of Vietnam (VEIA), Vietnam ’s eCIT sector earned 2.5 billion USD from export in the first 11 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 percent. The sector is expected to reach a total export value of around 3 billion USD in 2009, an increase of 15.4 percent over last year./.
