The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has announced a list of more than 200 cooperation programmes in education and training between Vietnam and other countries that have received official approval after extensive checks.

According to a report released by the ministry’s Vietnam International Education Development Department, 212 programmes have been given the green light to continue their work while 15 existing courses have stopped recruiting students and six more have finished their operations.

Inspections in foreign related education and training institutions throughout the country by the MoET have detected some wrong doing and violations.

Under current regulations, all international cooperation for graduate and higher education must be licensed by the ministry or selected institutions including the national universities in Hanoi and HCM City, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University and Da Nang University.

Parents and students are encouraged to carefully check on the legality of foreign-related programmes before joining in to avoid being cheated.

Information about the legality of the programmes can be found at the website or on the websites of the above universities.-VNA
